Frequently asked questions about Ninja Maths
Q1. What does it cost?
For lifetime license one off payment:
- Single Teacher $12
- Up to 10 teachers: $75
- Whole school license: $200
Q2. Where do students record their answers?
Students record their answers on the supplied Excel sheet (printed for each student). To save time, teachers usually print half as many answer sheets for marking, and students partner-mark each other’s work.
Q3. How do you differentiate?
Differentiation depends on the age group and ability levels. All students are encouraged to embrace their Ninja Mindset—recognising that everyone is on their own learning journey and improvement is the main goal. If the gap between students is significant, different sheets can be provided. Ninja Maths Junior offers additional options and can be used alongside the main program to support lower-level learners.
Q4. How often is the program used?
The frequency is flexible and up to the teacher or school. Many teachers run it once a week (e.g. every Friday), while others use it more often. The key is also to incorporate Ninja Maths games during the week as short 5–10 minute warm-ups to reinforce skills.
Q5. Do all students complete the same sheet in a session?
Most of the time, students complete the same sheet. However, if there is a wide range of abilities, teachers can use a mix of Ninja Maths and Ninja Maths Junior to better support all learners.
Q6. How do students mark their work?
Students usually partner-mark to save teacher time. If there is any disagreement, the teacher steps in to check.
Q7. What if some students are not getting the desired results?
The program is grounded in Growth Mindset principles. Students are encouraged to believe in their ability to learn, put in effort through regular practice and games, and celebrate growth over time. This cycle of Belief → Action → Growth helps students stay motivated and continue improving.
Q8. Is it compatible with iPads?
The program is intentionally designed to be “old school”—paper and pencil based. This reduces screen time and keeps the focus on rapid recall and practice.
Q9. How long does it take to complete each session?
Each session takes about 3 minutes to complete, plus additional time for marking and handing out Ninja Cards (around 10 minutes total). Many teachers run it weekly, while others run it daily with great success.
Q10. Can it be used at home and school?
Yes. The program is designed for flexibility in both settings. Teachers can send sheets home for extra practice, and one effective strategy is highlighting skipped or challenging questions for students to focus on at home. This makes immediate, constructive use of the data.
